Executive summary
Bravo K9 Solutions reviewed its public marketing, booking, account, learning, messaging, and accessibility-statement experiences. The reviewed production release passed 78 automated regression and security tests, compiled successfully, loaded on all eight sampled public routes without horizontal overflow, and produced no recent runtime errors during the review window.
Important: This is an engineering and operational accessibility report, not a legal opinion, government certification, or guarantee that every future page state and third-party service will be barrier-free.
Standard and approach
Bravo uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Levels A and AA, as its primary design and testing goal. Practical enhancements include larger important controls, stronger form boundaries, reduced-motion support, and user-selectable contrast and text sizing.
The review used WCAG-EM concepts: define the scope, explore the website, select representative pages and processes, evaluate them, and document the results. Automated checks were paired with code inspection, live keyboard checks, contrast measurement, zoom and responsive-layout testing.
Pages and processes sampled
| Route or area | Primary task | Coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Home | Understand services and pricing | Headings, images, reviews, navigation |
| Booking portal | Select and request a visit | Controls, dates, forms, sticky actions |
| Dog walking | Review walking service | Content hierarchy, links, reflow |
| Learning | Find and use lessons | Media alternatives and protected content |
| Contact | Reach a trainer | Phone links, details, public team data |
| Account | Register, sign in, manage a profile | Authentication, input purpose, status |
| Community | Read and send messages | Thread layouts, selectors, wrapping |
| Accessibility | Find support and report barriers | Statement, contacts, guidance |
| Owner and staff code | Manage people and media | Permissions, labels, media scope |
Observed production results
| Check | Result | Evidence or note |
|---|---|---|
| Page titles and primary headings | Pass | Meaningful titles and exactly one H1 on every sampled public route |
| Landmarks and accessible names | Pass | Main landmark present; no unnamed buttons, links, inputs, selects, or textareas detected |
| Keyboard focus | Pass | Visible focus; accessibility panel focus entry, Escape dismissal, and focus return verified |
| Horizontal reflow | Pass | No viewport overflow detected on sampled routes |
| Image alternatives | Pass; monitor | Meaningful images named and decorative images silent; future uploads require review |
| Forms and authentication | Pass | Labels, input types, autofill and password-manager support; paste is not blocked |
| Motion | Pass | System reduced-motion preference respected and a manual setting is available |
| Training media | Supported; monitor | Caption and transcript controls exist; accuracy remains an editorial responsibility |
| Third-party checkout | External | Stripe hosts checkout and billing; Bravo provides assistance when a hosted step creates a barrier |
Improvements published
- Added predictable focus entry, Escape-to-close, focus return, route-change close, and focus-leave behavior to the accessibility panel.
- Added scroll clearance so sticky headers and controls are less likely to obscure keyboard focus.
- Raised form-control boundary contrast from 2.73:1 to 4.71:1.
- Standardized 44-pixel footer link targets.
- Added recognized input-purpose tokens for names, telephone numbers, addresses, and passwords.
- Made star ratings announce once as a rating while keeping repeated star glyphs silent.
- Expanded the public accessibility statement with measures, limitations, and a direct barrier-reporting route.
- Restricted the website editor to approved photos and videos. Logos, brand marks, decorative icons, service icons, accessibility controls, and interface artwork are excluded.
Continuing content responsibilities
- Write concise, purpose-based alternative text for meaningful photos and leave decorative images silent.
- Add accurate synchronized captions to prerecorded video and identify speakers and meaningful sounds.
- Provide transcripts for instructional media and describe important visual actions not conveyed in speech.
- Keep links descriptive, form labels visible, errors programmatic, and status information available without relying on color alone.
- Re-test hosted payment and billing flows after material Stripe changes and maintain a staff-assisted alternative.
Maintenance schedule
- Every content publish: check alternative text, captions, transcripts, heading order, descriptive links, and mobile presentation.
- Every code release: run regression tests, build verification, a keyboard smoke test, and runtime review.
- Monthly: test booking, sign-in, profiles, messaging, learning, and the accessibility contact path.
- Quarterly: perform a representative WCAG review at narrow widths and 200% zoom, including contrast and focus.
- Twice yearly: test complete journeys with screen readers and voice-control software.
- Periodically: involve people with disabilities in usability testing and remediation priorities.
